started as a group of like-minded individuals who knew that social media is real and here to stay. We believe in authentic, unfiltered and independent voices. With over 500 contributors, our stories range from reported articles to opinion pieces. Just because we publish the opinions of our contributors doesn’t mean that their opinions necessarily reflect the views of our editorial team.
As a result, we have been publishing stories through our main site, our Facebook page, our Twitter account, as well as our Instagram and YouTube pages. We are proud to have a developed a very engaged community that is bilingual, bicultural, mobile, savvy, and doesn’t want to be sold.

Hosted by Professor Jamie Liew, each episode is an in-depth conversation with people who have experienced the Canadian immigration system or other migration regimes up close. We talk to migrants, immigrants, lawyers, policy makers, advocates and experts. We hope that these conversations shed light on the challenges migrants face through their own voices. La Organización Internacional para Migraciones - OIM presenta En Movimiento: un podcast para mover ideas sobre migración.
More than 35,000 adult adoptees in the United States spent their entire lives completely unaware that they lacked citizenship and faced deportation. Their stories deserve to be heard - in their own words. Their stories deserve to be UnErased.

The Mexican Migration Project (MMP) was created in 1982 by an interdisciplinary team of researchers to further our understanding of the complex process of Mexican migration to the United States. The project is a binational research effort co-directed by Jorge Durand, professor of Social Anthropology at the University of Guadalajara (Mexico), and Douglas S. Massey, professor of Sociology and Public Affairs, with a joint appointment in the Woodrow Wilson School, at Princeton University (US).
Since its inception, the MMP's main focus has been to gather social as well as economic information on Mexican-US migration. The data collected has been compiled in a comprehensive database that is available to the public free of charge for research and educational purposes through this web-site.
The MMP is a unique source of data that enables researchers to track patterns and processes of contemporary Mexican immigration to the United States. The project is a multi-disciplinary research effort that generates public use data on the characteristics and behavior of Mexican migrants.
Since the passage of the Homeland Security Act of 2002, the Office of Immigration Statistics has responsibility to carry out two statutory requirements: 1) to collect and disseminate to Congress and the public data and information useful in evaluating the social, economic, environmental, and demographic impact of immigration laws; and 2) to establish standards of reliability and validity for immigration statistics collected by the Department’s operational Components.
The Project Transnational Identities and behavior: an Ethnographic Comparison of First and Second Generation Latino Immigrants was realized under the direction of Douglas Massey and Magaly Sanchez R with funding from the Russell Sage Foundation (May 2002). The study, known in abbreviated form as the Immigrant Identity Project, was organized as a sub-project of two larger investigations: the Mexican Migration Project and the Latin American Migration Project. The project sought to conduct in-depth interviews with immigrants residing in the northeastern United States , and was originally conceived to analyze whether the construction of immigrant identity conformed to the postulates of classic assimilation theory, segmented assimilation theory, or transnational theory, and to assess whether intergroup boundaries were being blurred or brightened.
This project serves as a centralized place where journalism students learn basics of data journalism, from locating data sources and understanding data to visualizing and
displaying data. Students in journalism programs nationwide and journalist practitioners can use this resource to get started with data journalism, or sharpen their knowledge of data journalism. In the long run, this resource will prepare next-generation journalists, equipping them with the ability to analyze complex data, tell powerful stories, and
effectively communicate these stories to various audiences.

The nonpartisan Migration Policy Institute seeks to improve immigration and integration policies through authoritative research and analysis, opportunities for learning and dialogue, and the development of new ideas to address complex policy questions. Founded in 2001, MPI is headquartered in Washington, DC. In 2011, MPI established the Migration Policy Institute Europe, a nonprofit, independent research institute based in Brussels that builds upon the work that MPI has done for years in Europe.

PERLA - Princeton University
The Project on Ethnicity and Race in Latin America
Proyecto sobre Ethnicidad y Raza en America Latina
Projeto sobre Etnicidade e Raça na América Latina
In 2008, the Project on Ethnicity and Race in Latin America (PERLA) was formed in an effort to collect and analyze survey data to explore a wide range of ethnoracial issues in the region, providing much-needed data on ethnoracial conditions in the region. By designing nationally representative surveys on a broad range of ethnoracial issues, PERLA has gone well beyond the one or two ethnoracial classification questions found in national censuses and other official surveys. The PERLA surveys consisted or an ethnicity module included in the 2010 America’s Barometer as well as in-depth ethnicity and race surveys in four countries: Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Peru. The PERLA surveys include several ethnoracial classification and inequality items, questions on perceived discrimination, and public opinion questions about ethnoracial minorities, social policies, and social movements,. Our analyses of these surveys provides new truths based on solid data for a region that has long been in denial about deep-seated ethnoracial inequalities, injustices, and prejudiced attitudes, not to mention the need for policies that seek to redress them.
